The Forever Costa Rica supports the implementation of the 2021-2022 technical cooperation of the French Development Agency (AFD). French Development Agency (AFD) to the Public Policy Program for the Costa Rica's National Decarbonization Plan (PND)..

This Plan contributes to the transformation for a transition towards the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions and to comply with the United Nations Paris Agreement on climate change.

Mangrove monitoring system in the Gulf of Nicoya.
This project supports the establishment of a monitoring system for the mangrove ecosystems of the Gulf of Nicoya to increase their representativeness within the National Forest Inventory of National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC).
The system will allow guiding the efforts of conservation of biodiversity and restoration of its ecosystems.
The project represents an investment of $70,000 and is executed by the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE).
2. Sugarcane NAMA design and pilot scheme
The project promotes the design of a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) for sugarcane production, which would help reduce its carbon footprint and promote a green economy.
Some 200 people in the sector were trained in a sectoral NAMA. The project was financed with $171,000 and implemented by the Liga Agrícola Industrial de la Caña de Azúcar (LAICA). developed a protocol for action and attention in cases of livestock depredation by wild felines. This represented an investment of ₡42.4 million and was executed by the Asociación de Organizaciones del Corredor Biológico Talamanca Caribe.
